Perjalanan Ini : Northland, New Zealand (Part 3)

Final day here. According to the plan, we should head home as early as we can. Din supposed to kerja that night. (malas la nak edit font ni...ada underline apsal la...). Tapi.....why, sempat lagi nak basuh kereta....lagi mau train Adelia cuci2 tayar etc.

Sempat bagi Adelia main kat playground lagi....bila nak balik ni???
Sempat fishing lagi.......'bilakah nak dapat merasa ikan tangkapan ayahku', detik hati Adelia. Mum : bila nak balik ni???


....until la tetiba Din cakap "malam ni cuti". abis apsal tak bagitau awal2.....org memasak dan mengemas dgn kelam kabut skali tau. dgn bestnya jawab "bagitau awal2, nanti awak buat beribu2 plan lagi nak berjalan". ha...betul la tu....konsep kita ialah alang2 nak berjalan...bior la all out.....kena pi semua tempat selagi boleh. Yelah, bukan senang nak datang lagi....but, takpe la....bagi can > even dalam hati dah pikir : haa...nanti boleh singgah Whangarei lagi on the way home.

Singgah sat at Waitangi Treaty grounds. Posing ngan label je...tak masuk pun. A place where the treaty was signed???? I think so. By the way, little girl chose to pose lain dr biasa masa ni. Boleh pejam mata in all pics kat sini....pastu inform us > Adelia tidur, mum"...huhhhh....being cheeky la tu!

CD player......boleh??? The one bulat besar tu....is the CD....the compartment kat bawah is tempat simpan cd. Impressive!

Little girl was so amazed at this section. Sort of kids' section > funny clock, cartoon etc...

Kesimpulannya, ada "Clocks banyak...banyak...banyak" seperti kata Adelia. Ni jam kat tepi bedside la....yang atas skali besaq tu, sesuai sgt utk sapa susah sgt nak bangun pagi....sapa nak order?

Last pose at Whangarei before we continue our journey. Rupa2 nya ada hikmah disebalik our change of plan that day. Hikmahnya > alhamdulillah, kami dijauhkan dari accident kat highway. It rained, so agak la dangerous kalau tgh hujan tu kita tgh lalu sesetengah part of the highway yg bersimpang-siur (reminds me of Bukit Putus....mmg mengucap panjang setiap kali lalu bila nak balik cuti sekolah). Kira2 kalu ikut plan asal, memang supposed to sampai area2 tu la at that time....syukur sangat2....

Perjalanan Ini : Northland, New Zealand (Part 2)

After the tiring trip, we went straight to our 'rumah baru' (Adelia punya terms).At Bay of Island, we stayed at Sublime Apartment @ Paihia. Seawal pagi Saturday esoknya.....we went to Kaitaia. The journey should take about one and a half hour.....so, we lalalalala....took our own sweet time to breakfast etc.....pastu dalam kereta boleh plak borak2 citer2 lawak zaman sekolah2...until la > wuuuppps.....salah ambik highway la, which is still akan sampai tempat dituju, but could be later than we planned. We were supposed to be in Kaitaia by 8.45 to catch a tour. So, apa lagi.....bergegas ler...tak la speeding pun, but both of us dah takde mood nak borak. He concentrated on the road....I concentrated on the map, as well as segala road signs yg ada. And again....managed to be there...just in time!! Alhamdulillah... Actually, ada je tour packages from Paihia itself, tapi untuk lebih menjimatkan we opted for the one which departs from Kaitia. The tour package is called Harrisons Cape Runners. Before the journey is started, we made a stop at the Ancient Kauri Kingdom for breakfast. Bur since we already had heavy breakfast at home, kami window shopping aje dlm kedai ni. The 'chair' up there.....NZD 20,000.....ada berani, anyone??? The name given > 'Love Seat'....ahahahaha....
Then, 90 mile Beach...which, according to the tour guide, is only 60 mile. Took about an hour to drive along the beach. Great place for fishing > ada yearly fishing tournament held here sometimes in May (ke March, ah???).
In the middle of the 90 Mile Beach, the driver stopped here, where we can see Hole In The Rock from afar.....
Then, we went sand tobogganing on the giant sand dunes. Guess who shouted dengan amat2 kuat all the way???? Akmalia la....of course. Takut seh...tinggi!! Adelia did it on her own...tapi dekat je la...but still, a very brave effort. Err...only Adelia's picture je yg 'sesuai' untuk tontonan umum. Mum's picture > aksi tunggang langgang.....ahahaha.
Tapi, time bergaya.....seperti biasa la...tetap........
Makan time > picnic at the beach, which is a very very very nice area. Rasa mcm dlm LOST pulak....ahaha. The tour package includes lunch which contains scone dan macam2 snek lagi. But kami mana tahan.....pekena sphagetti and sandwich which were prepared in the morning.

Then, off to Cape Reinga.

We stopped here...to get the "biggest icecream in NZ from a small shop in the middle of nowhere" > that's how the guide terms it! Bagus jugak...sebab Adelia deserves a treat for being such an angel during the trip.

The off to Rarawa Beach....snow-white sand...white silica sand....whatever....mmg sgt halus pasirnya...

Among the best things about taking a tour package is that the tour guide would surely furnish you with information especially about history etc. In our case, the tourist guide talks a lot about economy as well. The picture above is the ladang Avocado, a new project in the region. Very very huge invesment, which is going to be fruitful in 4 years time.

Back to the the Ancient Kauri Kingdom...to shop for souvenir.

Then....drove back to Paihia....

The best thing about Din having to work on public hols is that he is given an extra day off, which allows us to have a holiday lain dari masa org lain. Best sbb less hassle in terms of senang dpt affordable accommodation, and takyah berebut2 kalu nak ambik gambar kat tourist spot.

This time, we went to up north. After a light breakfast, we departed from Auckland around 8.30 a.m. on the 17th April, 2009...I drove from Auckland to Whangarei, ditemani oleh delicious kuih kacang + cold coffee + Din yg mamai2 sbb baru balik kerja pukul 7 a.m tadi + Adelia yg tidur all the way. Around 11.00, we made a stop at Whangarei Falls..Main reason of stopping > LUNCH!!! Menu : Nasi lemak ayam goreng...
Need to cross this small bridge and walk a little bit to be able to view the waterfall from near...

Then, we rushed to the Bay of Island....to catch a trip which is scheduled at 1.30.

Arrived in Paihia just in time.....fuhhhh.....although agak struggle la berlari2 anak dari tempat parking kereta ke jeti...There are several tour operators with various option. This is the trip that we took....see more here : http://www.greatsights.co.nz/

The hole in the rock on its own...picture taken just before pemandu bot tu decided to surprise us. He asked us whether we want to go through the hole, and just a few angkat tangan. So he said, since tak ramai setuju, he won't do it. And keep telling us that it is impossible to go through it. So, I stood at the front of the boat.....when tiba2....the boat speed forward...and really2 went through the hole. Agak scary tapi tgk sorang nenek ni maintain aje...so, I have to keep my cool as well...hehe......

By this time, most of the passengers turun kat one island, for an hour tour there. But, we decided not to. Since tak ramai org on board.....we lepak2 kat depan boat la...

Then.......out of the sudden >>>>>> DOLPHINS!!!!!

There were about 5-6 of them.....and we can see them very very clearly. Adelia was so excited.....that she kept screaming "tu...tu...tu...."everytime dolphin2 tu came out of the water. Ohhh...by the way, the dolphin pictures that we took didn't really justify what we saw. A combination of kamera biasa2 + photographer lady yg menggelabah + bateri ala2 nak kong + dolphin yg unpredictable bila dia nak appear.....yg ada ni pun cukup baik la.

Have to see it yourself to believe it...hehehe...

Apple Picking

Hari itu...we went apple picking kat North Shore.

Belum apa-apa lagi, kitorang mengabadikan kenangan dibawah pokok apple....ahahaha. Julung2 kali ambik gambar berdua....semenjak ada anak sorang ni kan, payah nak dpt ambik gambar berdua.....aceeehhhh....
Pastu we discovered pokok-pokok yg ada mini apple....kecik tapi manis jugak. Sesuai utk bekal sekolah budak2 cam Adelia.

Don't know why I automatically terposing pulak setiap kali nak ambik gambar....ahahaha. Oh yup...Adelia is too busy ngan kawan2 dia....so, susah nak suruh dia posing that day.
Ngap.....makan kat dlm ni free aje. So, for Din > It's heaven. Apple lover, he is. Kalau beli apple kat Foodtown.....mmg membelek apple dengan teliti sebelum beli, pastu dia akan sangat2 bengang if cashier tak handle apple tu elok2 i.e. campak je dlm plastik. Siap boleh kesan if Adelia gigit apple dia sket....heehe....

I am not a big fan of apple.....tapi suka this fruit > pear buruk...that's how I called it. Nama sebenar....lupo la den. Rupa mmg buruk...pear kaler cam warna kulit org kita. Tapi rasa dia....perghh....org yg mmg tak brapa rajin nak makan buah like me pun suka....so, u can imagine how sedap it is. Not much pics though...saya sibuk makan masa ni...

The whole apple-picking team....dgn hasil kutipan masing-masing. Kami la yg paling byk membeli > NZD 16.50. But, it's worth it. From an apple a day...Din kini makan two apples a day. Mummy and Adelia??? hehehe....kami mengada2, kalau ada org rajin kupas > baru makan.

Lepas picking, singgah kat Kell Park for picnic. Adelia, pantang betui jumpa playground. But this playground is extra special...coz ada fire engine.

On the way home...we stop at this place. Guess what?? Setahun stgh +++ di Auckland, ni la first time saya sampai tempat ni. In fact, masa mak and abah dtg dulu > tak jumpa camne nak pergi sini. Tak dapat la mak and me posing depan 'mercu-tanda' Auckland. Tapi, takpe....that's the reason to come again...kan mak??!

Sampai rumah : One happy girl....with 14 of her mini apples > enough for 2 weeks bekal sekolah..
